A Little Write up to Celebrate the International Day of the Girl Child

I don't know if I should call this a Poem but it just popped up in my mind.

I'm not what you wished I was, but I came
I might not be what you prayed for but I still came
Not to suit your needs.
But I'm who I am because I was born for a purpose

Fragile you call me
But, I'm stronger than you think
I take up more than what you imagined
My glory is evident in my beauty

Beauty we speak, my kinky hair glows
My blonde straight hair with it's slender tenderness glows
My Afro, rocks
My low cut doesn't make me less but shows my strength
My curly hair is my pride

I flaunt my wonderful structured physique
Down from my ever blazing face to my feet
My feet, only steps to conquer and dominate

I'm fearless. I can't be intimidated
I can't be abused because I'm precious
I can't be drawn down by your insecurities
I can't be restricted from achieving my dream

I'm Black, I'm White
I'm your Brown Skinned Girl
Regardless of however you see me
I'm still a Girl.

The Unanswered Questions?

Alright, as humans we are naturally curious. Well, a lot had me thinking of lots of things- things like family, school, society and yeah, the world. Note..I'm not scientifically bothered about them. I'm just naturally bothered about them. Starting out with the SOCIETY. It's funny that I grew up in a very disciplined home, where you get punished in the "African way" whenever you misbehaved. Our parents were mostly burdened about the character we displayed in public, our dressing, our mode of approach etc. They had this"what will people say?" syndrome . Yeah, I called it a syndrome, because to me it was, in the sense that they just get carried away with what others-the society- thinks about their family. It's actually general, it spreads like a disease to many other African home. The old African way, leave you with lots of bitter sweet memorable experiences that affects your behaviour in public.   Honestly, those modes of training came with lots ...

I knew if I don't, I would get stuck in traffic. Unfortunately for me , I still got stuck in traffic. The cause of it?, I still don't know. I stayed in traffic for over 30 minutes , from palmgroove to Onipanu before the gridlock was cleared. Few hours, I was in Ajegunle. Few things about Ajegunle: It's a neighbourhood or community located at the south of  Lagos, bordered by Apapa Wharf at the west. It's popularly known as the ghetto city of Lagos or the AJ city.
