5 tips for Self Improvement

"There is nothing noble in being superior to your fellow man, true nobility is being superior to your former self "

Here are the Five Effective Tips for Self Improvement :

1. Identify Your Weaknesses: This is usually a tough one because most persons shy away from their weaknesses, they cover them up with excuses, blame, anger etc, and sometimes they pretend and act blindly towards them. All these are caused by fear, fear of what others may think of us, fear of not being able to overcome them, fear of being totally different from our fantasies, fear of accepting reality. All, PHOBIA.
The first step to self improvement, is to accept and identify your weaknesses, that way you have a starter.

2. Take up Courage to Work on Your Weaknesses :
It takes extreme courage and efforts to work on your weaknesses. You could start by seeking external help if necessary. For instance, a student who's bad at math could seek help from peers or take up extra lessons after school. A person who has an anger disorder could attend anger management classes or see a personal psychiatrist for counselling. This way you improve and become the best of who you are. Also, you could watch videos, subscribe to blogs, enrol in an online class, read books that are related to overcoming weaknesses.

3. Love Yourself : In everything this is the most paramount. Self love and self improvement are intertwined. The only reason why you would want to improve your personality is because you love yourself. Never let anyone nor  anything make you think otherwise. You are unique and filled with potentials, the only thing your weaknesses does is to limit those potentials but it can't change your uniqueness. Your uniqueness is your signature, in everything.  Regardless of those challenges you face everyday, Self love should always dominate.

4. Be Disciplined: You need to cultivate the habit of self discipline. Discipline yourself to follow up with the rules and plans you've set up to attain self improvement. This is very important. Most persons draft up plans to either start exercising or gyming, for the first few weeks they may seem involved and dedicated but within few months they go back to their old habits of eating junk foods, taking less rest etc and sometimes they stop exercising at all. If you are to improve yourself, you need to be disciplined, dedicated and patient.

5. Be Happy: Happiness gives purity to the soul. Try as much as possible to be happy. Get rid of negative vibes, have a meditating session; it helps the mind, engage in things that makes you happy...your hobbies etc. Also one other happiness fact is that, when you begin to dedicate your time in improving yourself by keeping to your plans and rules...you tend to see results, this way you feel you have control, over your life and decisions, your brain then releases endorphin which gives you happiness.

Remember your happiness lies in your hands

The Unanswered Questions?

Alright, as humans we are naturally curious. Well, a lot had me thinking of lots of things- things like family, school, society and yeah, the world. Note..I'm not scientifically bothered about them. I'm just naturally bothered about them. Starting out with the SOCIETY. It's funny that I grew up in a very disciplined home, where you get punished in the "African way" whenever you misbehaved. Our parents were mostly burdened about the character we displayed in public, our dressing, our mode of approach etc. They had this"what will people say?" syndrome . Yeah, I called it a syndrome, because to me it was, in the sense that they just get carried away with what others-the society- thinks about their family. It's actually general, it spreads like a disease to many other African home. The old African way, leave you with lots of bitter sweet memorable experiences that affects your behaviour in public.   Honestly, those modes of training came with lots ...
