What book would you recommend to a stranger?

All these are random questions book lovers encounter. Well, I will be highlighting 5 books I would recommend to a stranger.

1. Velva Jean Learns to Fly by Jenifer Niven
This is a fictional book with a mix of real life characters like Jacqueline Cochran;the first female pilot, General Arnold. The book is all about a young determined lady, Velva Jean, who had a dream of being a singer and singing at the Opry. Along the line, she had her dream channelled to flying...being a pilot and living beyond the keep after being turned down by various singing agencies. It depicts events and happenings of the Second World War. I highly recommend this amazing book and it's actually my favorite book for now. It's a really inspiring book for the girl child.

2. Waiting in Vain by Colin Channer
This is a romantic fictional book by the renowned African writer Colin Channer, popularly known as "Bob Marley with a pen ". The book is all about a tangled love affair between Fire; a talented, Jamaic-born poet , and Sylvia; a magazine editor. They had to choose between their love or their Odds. Highly scripted and contains lyrics from Waiting in vain by Bob Marley.

3. A Step Towards Falling by Cammie McGovern
This is an amazing fictional book that tells of a story about Emily who did nothing to save her developmentally disabled classmate Belinda, who later saved herself, from being sexually abused. Burdened by the guilt, she decided to make it up to Belinda for she knows she can't undo the past.  This is an amazing book that gives a deep insight of the lives of people with developmental disabilities .

4. 13¹/2 by Navada Barr
Thirteen and half is an awesome book. A fictional story on the brutal murder of a family by one of their own in a little town of Minnesota in 1971. Marshal and Danny the only survivors tries to move on after the past incident. On the other side is Polly, a lady striving to survive. The life of Polly crossed path with that of Marshal..."the Butcher boy " and Danny. She is caught in a triangle of lies and deception...until the real murder is discovered . Amazing plot twist by Navada Barr the writing psychologist .

5. There was a County by Chinua Achebe
This is a non fictional book by the renowned African writer Chinua Achebe. Late Chinua Achebe needs no introduction... His works are extremely outstanding and literary catchy. There was a county is an account of the Nigerian Civil War of 1967 to 1970 in the late writer's perspective.

These books are extremely interesting and I hope you get them from a book store. I will also be recommending some other books later on.

The Unanswered Questions?

Alright, as humans we are naturally curious. Well, a lot had me thinking of lots of things- things like family, school, society and yeah, the world. Note..I'm not scientifically bothered about them. I'm just naturally bothered about them. Starting out with the SOCIETY. It's funny that I grew up in a very disciplined home, where you get punished in the "African way" whenever you misbehaved. Our parents were mostly burdened about the character we displayed in public, our dressing, our mode of approach etc. They had this"what will people say?" syndrome . Yeah, I called it a syndrome, because to me it was, in the sense that they just get carried away with what others-the society- thinks about their family. It's actually general, it spreads like a disease to many other African home. The old African way, leave you with lots of bitter sweet memorable experiences that affects your behaviour in public.   Honestly, those modes of training came with lots ...
